Fist of all I'd like to thank the maker of Garden Balistics.co.nr You're the only site I could find that provided not only good instructions, but also accompanying picture of the construction, so even I don't have all the parts, I can improvise (which I have done). Changes: Since I didn't have the 5mm diameter ABS, I used 4mm stuff, which works well, although I imagine that I'm losing power slightly. I also found that the spark from an electric lighter wasn't strong enough... that, and the fact that I was to lazy to make a little holder for it! So I substituted it for a BBQ replacement lighter: which was fairly simple to attach. Other that those to points the design was good. I also found (and am still finding) out a few things about ammo to use and fuel. I find by far the most successful propellant so far tested is pressurised butane which I bought for a camping stove. I attatched the nozzle from a can of WD40 in order to spray it into the combustion chamber. ;D Ammo, well, I've tried potatoes, tomatoes, apples, cucumber, and even rice cakes! ;D I found by far the most successful was not a potato, byt cucumber, possible because its a bit wet, and lubricates the tube on the way down the barrel in preparation to come whizzing out. Well, that's all I've got for now, still messing around with it. here are a few more pics: SRDF, Starch recourse deployment facilitator - shamelessly stolen from another potato cannon site

Hi there!
Im really glad that you find my site informative and useful!!!! That is the main reason why i decided to make this site - to provide information regarding these projects in greater detail so that anyone can understand and build them.
The BBQ igniter is a much better idea - it should work far better and is far easier to install! The reason why i used a lighter igniter is because i didn't want to spend £25 on a BBQ igniter and it was one i had handy.
I like your cannon - the smaller dimensions will mean slightly less power but with the smaller diameter barrel, you an use many more types of projectile, like the cucumber! I want to try that but it will be hard finding one big enough for my 50mm diameter barrel! Ill try it in my 32mm dia. pneumatic cannon.
Thanks again for your comments and the information about you cannon, it would be good to get more posts like this here in the forum!
